What to think about when booking your wedding photographer

When should you start thinking about booking your wedding photographer?

It is generally recommended to book a wedding photographer as soon as you have set your wedding date and finalised the venue. I am not just writing this to rush you to book me haha, wedding photographers are often in high demand and can book up quickly, especially if you are getting married during a popular time of year. It is a good idea to start researching and reaching out to photographers at least 6-12 months before your wedding to ensure that you are able to book the photographer of your choice.

It is also important to keep in mind that booking a wedding photographer is just one part of the wedding planning process. You will also need to book a venue, caterer, florist, and other vendors, so it is a good idea to start planning as early as possible to ensure that you are able to secure all of the vendors that you need for your wedding.

What to consider before booking your magic maker?

Choosing the right wedding photographer is an important decision, as the photographs from your wedding day will be treasured memories for years to come. To help you find the right photographer for your special day, here are several factors to consider:

  1. Style: Look for a photographer whose style aligns with your vision for your wedding. Do you want traditional posed shots, or do you prefer a more photojournalistic approach?

  2. Portfolio: Review the photographer's portfolio to get a sense of their work and the types of images they produce.

  3. Experience: Consider the photographer's experience shooting weddings, as well as any other relevant experience they may have.

  4. Personality: It is important to choose a photographer that you feel comfortable with, as you will be spending a significant amount of time with them on your wedding day.

  5. Price: Determine your budget for a photographer and look for someone whose prices fit within that range.

  6. Recommendations: Ask friends and family for recommendations, or look for reviews online to get a sense of the photographer's reputation.

When you have narrowed down your options, schedule a consultation with the photographers you are interested in to get a better sense of their personalities and to ask any questions you may have. This will also give you an opportunity to see more of their work and discuss your specific needs and expectations for your wedding.

I could write here- book me book me- or I could encourage you to follow your gut and book only the photographer that feels the right for you!
